Our Help Section Has Moved

Please use the support section of the ZioPedia Forum for any technical problems, questions and suggestions. You can access the forum via the top menu of the ZioPedia.org site. Alternatively you can send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Please note that the list of common problems below has been superseded by the forum and is out of date.

Common Problems

1. Problem: After clicking on the login button nothing happens

Click on the read more button under any of the articles on the homepage. If you not logged in, it will display a login screen plus a list of available subscriptions. After entering your username and password, ticking the 'remember me' box and clicking okay, the article will displayed. From now on, you have access to all articles, even if the homepage does not display your name.

2. Problem: After logging in, the system doesn't display my name

Don't worry, you are still logged in. The system just displays an old cached page. When you click on the 'read more' button of any of the articles, your name will suddenly be displayed together with the full article.

3. Problem: After logging in and clicking on the 'read more' button, the site asks me to subscribe

Just log in again and the article will be displayed.

4. Problem: I get an 'invalid token' error message

You have 'lost connection' to the site or try to access a cached page that 'belongs' to someone else. Simply click behind the web address of your current page at the top of the web browser window and hit enter. This will establish a new connection/token and your page will be displayed.

5. Problem: The system thinks I have no subscription although I do

Delete the cache of your web browser first and try again. If that doesn't do the trick, set up a new 'free trial' subscription (giving you immediate access to the site) and send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with your username and password. You can accelerate out troubleshooting by forwarding the payment confirmation for your subscription. That way we don't have to search through hundreds of identical looking emails for your payment.

6. Problem: I've forgotten my password and have problems with the password recovery process

Send us an email with your username and the password you wish to use, and we will reset it for you.

7. Problem: I've forgotten my username as well and can't remember which email address I have used to register

Have a look for one of our daily newsletters. It gets sent to the email address you have used to register. Alternative, have a look if you can find our registration, subscription or payment email. They should contain that information too. If you can't find any of these or are in a rush, simply register as a different user. You will automatically be granted a 10 day free trial subscription, giving you plenty of time to investigate the matter. You can also send us an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with your name and firstname and we have a look in our user database if we can find your account.

8. Problem: Some parts of the screen don't look right or are missing

Try using Firefox 2 or later, especially if you are using a Mac.

9. Problem: I get a 'Forbidden - You don't have permission to access' error message

The cache is confused. Go to the homepage (www.ziopedia.org) and go to the article you want to access. If necessary, log in again, AFTER clicking on the 'read more' button.

10. Problem: I get a 'Site doesn't redirect correctly' error message

The cache is confused. Go to the homepage (www.ziopedia.org) and go to the article you want to access. If necessary, log in again, AFTER clicking on the 'read more' button.

If all fails

If the suggested approach does not work or the problem is not listed please send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with as much detail as possible including information which operating system and web browser you are using, (e.g. MacOS 10.3 with Firefox 2.0) what exactly happens (e.g. cannot log in) and what you have already tried to fix the problem (e.g. already reset the cache).
