The next generation of anti-Semitism On the popular social networking site Facebook, there is a group called "Israel" is not a country!... Delist it from Facebook as a country! This group has more than 40,000 members and includes more than 100,000 comments posted by readers. Much of the content posted here (and other online forums like it) is strongly anti-Israel and, in some cases, even anti-Semitic.
Unfortunately, the same technology that allows millions of users to rapidly find and connect with each other is also being exploited by hate groups to spread harmful propaganda and recruit others to their cause.
What is ADL doing about it? We are asking you to take a stand with us and help root out such online groups. We have created a form for you to help identify online extremist sites and groups. We know the danger that this hateful Internet propaganda poses, and we're determined to expose it for what it is.
Sign the pledge to help us root out extremist groups online.
We've already made progress. ADL has exposed other anti-Semites and bigots online, as well as anti-Israel sites and blogs, offensive Facebook groups, and examples of Hamas using online media to indoctrinate young children into a world of hate. ADL is working to enhance its counter-cyberhate operations to ensure that we can meet our mandate to protect the Jewish community.
But we still need your help. Stand with us and fight the threat of anti-Semitism 2.0. Sign our pledge condemning anti-Semitic groups on social networking sites. Make a commitment to stand up for the rights of Israel and Jews everywhere. Join nearly 50,000 others who have already made the commitment to fight anti-Semitism and hate online.
